டெல்லி மாணவர்கள் போராட்டத்தில் பெல்லட் குண்டு வீச்சு: உச்சநீதிமன்றத்தில் பொதுநல மனு

நீட் வினாத்தாள் கசிவைக் கண்டித்து டெல்லியில் நாடாளுமன்றம் நோக்கி மாணவர்கள் நடத்திய பேரணியில் காவல்துறையினர் தடியடி, கண்ணீர் புகை மற்றும் பெல்லட் குண்டுகளைப் பயன்படுத்தியதாக குற்றச்சாட்டு எழுந்தது. போராட்டத்தின் போது மிக அருகில் இருந்து பெல்லட் குண்டுகள் ஏவப்பட்டதால் பலருக்கு கண் மற்றும் முக்கிய உறுப்புகளில் காயம் ஏற்பட்டதாக முன்னாள் ஐபிஎஸ் அதிகாரி யசோவர்த்தன் ஆசாத் உள்ளிட்டோர் உச்சநீதிமன்றத்தில் மனு தாக்கல் செய்துள்ளனர். அமைதியான போராட்டங்களில் உலோக பெல்லட் குண்டுகளைப் பயன்படுத்தக்கூடாது என்ற 2020 ஐநா வழிகாட்டுதல்களை மீறி காவல் துறை செயல்பட்டுள்ளதாக மனுவில் சுட்டிக்காட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த மனு விரைவில் விசாரணைக்கு வரவுள்ளது.

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the use of pellet guns by security forces during a recent student protest in New Delhi. The protest, organised against the NEET paper leak, faced police action including lathicharge, tear gas, and pellet firing. Petitioners, including former IPS officer Yashovardhan Azad, highlighted that firing pellet guns at close range caused severe injuries and loss of vision to several students. The plea argued that police action violated the 2020 United Nations guidelines prohibiting metal pellet cartridges against peaceful demonstrators.
